(Correspondent Yang Haixuan Zhang Fangzhen and Correspondent Ji Yu) Recently, the "sister ship" of the world's first 700TEU pure battery-powered container ship "COSCO Shipping Green Water 01", "COSCO Shipping Green Water 02", was carefully escorted by Yangzhou Maritime Cruise Boat from Yangzhou COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Wharf to Yizheng Jie Waterway waters for a 3-day trial voyage.

It is understood that the total design length of this series of ships is 119.8 meters. When the battery capacity is 57600 kW, it is the pure electric ship with the largest battery capacity in the world. It uses the international first multi-container power exchange method and carries 36 replaceable marine container batteries. As the power source, the propulsion power can reach 2 × 900 kW. The ship type also uses intelligent technologies such as intelligent operation and maintenance, intelligent assisted driving, and visual waterway warning, which greatly improves the safe navigation ability of the ship.

In order to ensure the trial voyage of "COSCO Shipping Green Water 02", Yangzhou Maritime Safety Administration has given full play to the advantages of the all-factor water "big traffic management" information system, carefully formulated the maintenance plan, dispatched the patrol boat to maintain the whole process, publicized the fire safety knowledge of pure electric ships to the trial crew, and investigated the potential safety risks of pure electric ships during berthing.
